This site has had a few iterations.

The first was, Malaika Vida Yoga, when I taught yoga full-time.

During pandemic time, this site housed Shady Tea Corner,

Inspired by a month-long, in-person Permaculture Design Certification course that I took with Sarah Wu (Village Witch, The NoHm Collective of Herbalists) and Ryan Rising (Permaculture Action Network) at Heartland Collective in Wheatland, CA - and by my first permaculture garden in Topanga Canyon.

Now, I present to you, dear viewer, Valley Acro. Simple, hyper-local, quality Acro instruction in the Valley, aimed at creating a flow state in which creativity can thrive. You may get some yogic overtones about energy and nadis (energy lines), and you will most likely get some health-conscious snacks if you practice with me.

From Chis Filkins’ Deep Monkey Style (Westside Acro) to Lux’s Teacher Training (Seattle Acro), I created my own, trauma-informed, inclusive approach to this enthralling movement practice that we call, recreational l-base partner acrobatics; acro for short.

I teach a blend of fine balancing and dance choreography (Harvard and UCLA-trained), in an accessible way for all levels. Please come and check it out. Our next five-week series Saturdays from 11 am to 1 pm starts on January 18th, 2025 in Woodland Hills, CA.

With trust, we exceed our own expectations.

See you soon,

Malaika
